Zorro Reborn in Development at Fox
It’s been reported that Fox is in the process of developing a reboot for the character Zorro called Zorro Reborn. My only issue is that it’s set in an apocalyptic wasteland and will be void of most of the normal characteristics of Zorro. Doesn’t that just make it another Steel Dawn?
I haven’t found any story specifics yet, but from what I’ve read in this version, Zorro will be driven by vengeance instead of justice. Since it will be a post apocalyptic flick it sounds more like they’re remaking Steel Dawn meets Escape From New York instead of actually rebooting the character played so well by Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro [Blu-ray]
and The Legend of Zorro [Blu-ray]
not to mention the ever hot Catherine Zeta-Jones. I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve at least seen a trailer, but I have big reservations about this one at this point. Reported to be in theaters sometime in 2012 although it remains in development at this time.
