Jeff Bridges to Star In R.I.P.D Adaptation
The Wrap reports that Jeff Bridges has signed to star in the supernatural comedy R.I.P.D. along side Ryan Reynolds. The Universal project is based on the comic by Peter Lenkov and will be directed by Robert Schwentke. Check out the comic synopsis below.
Comic Synopsis
Welcome to the Rest in Peace Department--the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement "patrolling the deadbeat ... reporting to one boss." Yep--THAT boss. Nick Cruz died an untimely death at the height of his personal and professional life. Why did he join the R.I.P.D.? Well, not knowing the identity of his killer has left his soul a bit ... restless. Now he hunts some of the most fiendish creatures, hoping for the chance to find out who set him up so he can get into heaven.
Sounds good to me. I'm going to check out some of the source material and see what they're working with. This reminds me that I need to visit Hero's Comic here in Fresno more often. I've kept up with movies that interest me, but I've let my love/hate releationship with comics slip. It's time I gave them a call and rekindled that old flame.
