Scott Derrickson Directing Low-Budget Horror Project

The Exorcism of Emily Rose director Scott Derrickson is working on an
untitled horror project from producer Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity).

The storyline is said to be a horror tale with a crime at its core.
Jason Blum stated that the goal is to emphasize the story and vision
ahead of the Special Effects and stars.

I hope they remember the horror part. Blum's Paranormal Activity bored the shit out of me.




shit out of me and Derrickson didn't exactaly tickle my tumbler with
The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I have to admit that I haven't caught
Blum's Insidious yet, so maybe that one will give me hope for this
project?

Bokeem Woodbine is in talks to join Total Recall

Bokeem Woodbine is in talks to join Colin Farrell in the
reboot Total Recall for Sony Pictures.

If he signs on, Bokeem Woodbine will play the best friend to
Colin Farrell's Quaid, who has developed a big-brother sort of
relationship with him.

Total Recall comes to theaters August 3rd, 2012.

I hope he gets this roll. I honestly feel that Woodbine is a far under used
actor.

that it was one of the dullest trailers I have ever seen. I know everyone

We told you about a report last week that the “entire original cast” of Terminator would be returning for Terminator 5 (currently in development). Seems that may not be the case. Michael Biehn told Joblo “I don’t know anything about it.” when he heard the news that he would be back as Kyle Reese. Since everything is currently in the planning stages (no studio or even a Screenwriter yet. . . though I am available) this could mean that there are plans to reunite the original cast but no offers on the table at this time. We’ll let you know more when we do!

Star Trek 2 Eyeing A Possible September Start Date

The sequel to J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot is looking to be one of the most anticipated films of 2012, but it’s unknown exactaly when the filming will begin. Collider was able to interview Actor Karl Urban (Dr. McCoy), and mentioned the studio is may finally be deciding on a start date. “I’m hearing that it’s going to be September or November this year,” he said.

They’ll have to get on the ball if they want to meet it’s release date in July, and as far we know, there’s no finished script. Let’s hope they get it together and this film isn’t a rush job. I enjoyed the hell out of the last one and would hate this one to be a disaster due to time constraints.

The Playlist sat down with President of Production at Marvel Studios, and mentioned that Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) could be getting his own film. “Internally we’ve also started thinking what a ‘Hawkeye’ movie could be, how we could continue to explore the organization [which Samuel Jackson‘s Nick Fury leads] S.H.I.E.L.D, which has a pretty big part in ‘Thor,’ smaller parts in the two ‘Iron Man’ films and has a giant part in ‘The Avengers.’ [So it’s like], what would a stand-alone “S.H.I.E.L.D.” be like? It all goes back to the comics. Sometimes the answer is—when looking at a certain run of issues— ‘no way’ and sometimes the answer is ‘maybe, let’s continue to explore it’ and certainly with Hawkeye and Black Widow those are two that we’re exploring,” he said.
