For college student Josie Kane, it starts as a simple internship: to shadow a group of high-tech land surveyors as they make their first foray into an ancient wilderness. Assisted by grizzled security guard Dale Philip, the crew knows how to handle protesters and saboteurs — but there’s something much, much worse in the woods this time.

The local natives say the land is cursed — haunted by a demonic entity older than time. Now people are going missing, turning up dead or worse, and Josie and the crew are about to discover the truth behind the legend. The most alarming horror is the one you never see coming!

A sinister machine falls into the wrong hands as Lionsgate releases Needle on DVD, Digital Download, and On Demand this November. The supernatural slasher film stars Michael Dorman (Daybreakers), Travis Fimmel (The Experiment), Ben Mendelsohn (Knowing), Trilby Glover (TV's William & Kate), John Jarratt (Australia), Jessica Marais (TV's "Legend of the Seeker"), and Tahyna Tozzi (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as a group of friends tortured by an 18th century killing device. The film won accolades at the British Horror Film Festival (2010), including Best Cinematography, Best Special Effects, and Best Supporting Actress for Jessica Marais. The Needle DVD contains a "making of" featurette.

College student Ben Rutherford (Dorman) inherits a strange machine with supernatural powers from his deceased father. When the device goes missing, Ben's friends turn up dead - all having been killed in bizarre ways. With the help of his estranged brother, Marcus (Fimmel), the two discover that the machine was built for revenge and is seeking retribution for their father's sins.

Synopsis

A young boy named Roscoe finds a portal to another world where he is taught magic by an elder demon known as Dimwos. Dimwos raises the boy into manhood, revealing to him many secrets. Though, there is one dark secret that Dimwos keeps from Roscoe. When Roscoe discovers what his master has been keeping from him all these years, he revolts against him, inadvertently unleashing three malevolent demons. Through desperation, Roscoe is forced to escape the demons' wrath by way of the portal leading back to our world. Unbeknownst to Roscoe, he leads the demons to discover the portal for themselves. Once the demons pass through, a nightmarish foray of summoned monsters is unleashed.
