Here's a trio of shots from the upcoming Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Eva Mendes was the only good thing about the last film in my opinion. Dull 3 second fights agains the minions then a dumb ending to the fight against the main baddy, etc. No Eva in this one, so I'll have to hope that they have a better script.

Synopsis

It has been several years since making a deal with the Devil and Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), living in self-imposed isolation, finds himself as the only person who can help save 10-year-old Danny – and ultimately the world – thanks to his unwanted and uncontrollable power – his ability to transform into the hell-on-wheels monster known as The Ghost Rider.

Synopsis

Hired by Defense Science Office agents to create a genetic hybrid by combining rhesus monkey and reptile DNA, renowned geneticist, Gino Conti (Pete Punito) becomes suspicious of the government’s intentions and sets out to sabotage their seemingly diabolical plan.

Plagued by personal inadequacies and memories of his tragic past, Dr. Conti makes the experiment his own by injecting human DNA into the mix, creating a half-human half-reptile hybrid he then raises as his son.

Family life goes on fairly normally with a son heavy into mixed martial arts, internet dating, and catching and eating local wildlife. But parenting becomes a real challenge when the son, Carlo, develops a taste for human blood.

When a local couple is found viciously murdered, the government agents and local law enforcement suspect things amiss at T-Gen labs, and Conti’s covert scheme begins to quickly unravel, setting off a dangerous chase into the monstrous side of science.

I'm going to have my GF translate this one when I get home. If you hablo Spanisho (I really don't as you can tell) or just want to check out the visuals, below is an international trailer for the upcoming flick Intruders (aka Aullidos). The film stars Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Carice Van Houten, Pilar López de Ayala, Ella Purnell, Izan Corchero, and Kerry Fox.

Not a lot of details at this point, but the director has stated. The film centers on the origin of the monsters that are born in childhood and are passed on by the family. Clive looks like a normal man, even heroic, who has a range that can take him to do the dark side and allows him to travel the entire trajectory of the character."

Don't Answer The Caller

Given the fact that I live in Fresno I won't be able to see this one in theaters. We just don't get limited releases yet. We should, but we don't.

The Matthew Parkhill thriller The Caller is headed for a limited theatrical run after which Sony will be distributing via DVD and Blu-ray. Sounds interesting from the synopsis.

The film stars Stephen Moyer, Rachel Lefevre, Loma Raver and Luis Guzman.

No Sparkling Vampires In Bite Marks

Bite Marks is a real (no sparkles or Emo) vampire flick coming from Writer/Director Mark Bessenger. It stars Windham Beacham , David Alanson, and Benjamin Lutz and Stephen Geoffreys.

It's being marketed as an original chapter and not a remake which is good. The down side is it "aims is to grab an even wider audiunce" which to me means a Twilight Version of The Howling...Guess we'll have to wait and see. Check out the trailer below.

Synopsis for Arnold Schwarzenegger's Return in The Last Stand

Looks like Arnie's put it away long enough to commit to a project. He'll be making his return to the screen in Ji-Woon Kim's The Last Stand. Lionsgate has released a synopsis. If done right it could turn out pretty good.

Schwarzenegger will be starring as Sheriff Owens, a man who has resigned himself to a life of fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with failure and defeat after his partner was crippled. After a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy, the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the hemisphere is hurtling toward the border at 200 mph in a specially outfitted car with a hostage and a fierce army of gang members. He is headed, it turns out, straight for Summerton Junction, where the whole of U.S. law enforcement will have their last opportunity to make a stand and intercept him before he slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately accepts responsibility for one of the most daring face offs in cinema history.

Shooting is set to start in September.

First The Thing One-Sheet

The Thing prequel hits theaters October 14, 2011. Since it's supposed to be about the people who first un-Earth The Thing it seems kind of like a waste. Anyone who saw Carpenter's remake knows...well...they're all dead. Not much of a surprise coming. I just hope the execution will be good enough to make the ride interesting and scary. Horror Hits at 23:59

A new horror flick is coming from Singapore. 23:59 is a horror thriller set on an island used for military training circa 1983. Check out the trailer and synopsis below.

Synopsis

A rumor had been circulating like wildfire amongst the soldiers. A mad woman living on the island had died at the exact hour of 23:59, and it is believed that her spirit had returned to haunt the soldiers at the exact same time.

One of the recruits, Tan, the introverted platoon outcast, is adamant that he will be the next victim of the mad woman's spirit. He tries to convince his buddy Jeremy that the woman's spirit has been visiting him every night. Jeremy laughs it off and claims that there are no such things as ghosts in this world. They only exist because of Tan's overactive imagination.

However, during the 24 km road march for the platoon in the forest, Tan was found dead by the river, with his limbs contorted in a strange way and an expression of deep fear on his face. Overwhelmed with guilt, Jeremy decides to investigate Tan's death, convinced that it was not an accident as what the military officers believe.

Little does he know that the truth behind Tan's death will unearth a terrible dark secret of the island and he will have to confront his deepest fears in order to find the truth.
